Who is Max?

Hey there! Thanks for schlepping over to my site! I have been told that I can go off on many tangents so I am doing something different here and will provide structure to help my own brain understand who I am.

I typically tend to think of myself in three different segments: Professional Max, Engineer Max and Leisure Max.

Who is Max?

Here is a link to some of the books that have influenced me. In addition, I have provided a few quotes from them that have found a place in my heart.

    Re: Max Boykin

During the summer of 2016 I had the pleasure of working with Max at Sunsets primary U.S. Hub Facility in Livonia, MI. Based on the time I spent with him I could say the usual flattering comments like “Max is a sharp young man.” Based on his established educational history, hopefully this is self evident, so I would prefer to focus on his character attributes, which cannot be read or seen on a resume.

In our time together I saw Max develop. This seemed linked to a handful or core attributes he demonstrated. Max has a great attitude, he is willing to learn but also not afraid to constructively challenge. He showed a strong desire to simply ‘do the right thing’. He was inquisitive or curious about all the activities he was involved in and systemic ones that fed in to the area he was focusing on. He has wide, clean eyes. He didn’t develop a quick bias, he would thoroughly examine the reasons and history behind an issue or process to ensure he understood the challenges (physical, historical, or behavioral) to changing it. That didn’t change his resolve that a change was needed, but he didn’t initiate a change with a prejudicial view. He acted decisively but not recklessly.

On a personal level I found Max a pleasure to work with. Whether we were speaking personally or directly to business, it was always a positive experience to speak with and listen to him.

If you wish to discuss anything regarding Max further, it would be my pleasure to do so, don’t hesitate to contact me.

  • Max can and will achieve anything he is passionate about, no matter how many road blocks. He went well above his outlined responsibilities and started numerous new initiatives to get EGL alumni more engaged and increase corporate relations. His dedication will enable him to succeed at whatever he puts his mind to.

  • From brainstorming an idea to fulfilling its execution Max impressed me with the progress he was able to make in a short amount of time, especially when it comes to navigating relationships between people. While working with him to raise funds for a volunteer abroad trip, he played an indispensable role in raising more than $30K from EGL alumni. Most importantly, Max is a positive, enthusiastic person that is always a pleasure to be around.

  • Max was a pleasure to work with. He is an excellent communicator and involved all the right people when making process change. Max’s strongest skill was his ability to implement the changes on the warehouse floor. Hopefully we work together again.
